A Pregnancy is usually dated using the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP) as the start date. The fertilization age is two weeks after that. In the following examples we will use LMP dating.
Baby (Embryo) has implanted in the uterus. The heart begins to beat and all inherited features are set, whether its a boy or girl, colour of the eyes and hair etc.
Eyes, ears and lungs begin to develop. Two tiny arms and legs are present. Blood vessels form and foundations of brain, spinal cord, nervous system are laid.
Baby is now making its own blood. Depending upon its gender, the testicles or ovaries are beginning to form. Fingers and toes are forming and baby can make movements.
Brain produces brain waves. Arms and legs formed. All body organ systems are now present. Liver forms blood cells.
Spontaneous movement begins including hicupping, frowning, moving arms and legs and touching the face etc. Eyelids begin to form and elbows take shape.
Fingerprints and fingernails begin to develop. The ear is fully formed and baby practices moving about.
Baby now yawns, sucks and can urinate. They can even smile. First tooth buds appear and vocal cords start to develop.
Retina of the eye is present. Baby can suck its thumb, swallow and respond to touch. It kicks, turns and opens its mouth.
Baby's face starts to resemble their parents. It is very active and can blink its eyes and suck its lips.
